        A long awaited audio album titled 'ELAR JHAKA : Part 1', a bouquet of Bishnupriya Manipuri melodies was finally released by L. L. Productions on 8 March, 2014 at Jonakee auditorium, Multipurpose Cultural Complex, Panjabari, Guwahati. L.L.Productions has done a remarkable endeavor by introducing Bishnupriya Manipuri songs and music among the Indian Playback singers of Bollywood. This audio album presents two duet songs one each in the voice of renowned Indian Playback singers Anuradha Paudwal and Sadhana Sargam; and Tushar Arjun was the co-singer in both the duets.

        Tushar Arjun, an upcoming talented singer has given his melodious voice in two other duets with co-singer Bithi Sinha and Priti Sinha and in one solo song. The album also presents two solo songs each in the voice of Promila Sinha(Punu) and Bithi Sinha. The lyrics and tune of the songs are compositions of Hirendra Sinha, director of the album; Guru Chintamoni Sinha; Bithi (singer); Prabhas Kanti Sinha, writer & lyricist and Anima Sinha. Vishal Sinha, son of Prabhas Kanti Sinha is the producer of the album.

        Pratap Sinha, APS, Commandant, 16 Assam Police Battalion, Morigaon released the audio album on the day along with other distinguished guests DILS Lakhsmindra Sinha, President of Bishnupriya Manipuri Writers' Forum and well-known writer, poet & lyricist, Madhusudhan Sinha, IFS, Kamini Mohan Sinha, retired Professor, Col. Bijay Sinha (retd.), social activist and other social activists.

        Prabhas Kanti Sinha started the program with his welcome speech introducing L L Productions and its different activities and other audio/video releases, followed by welcome song presented by Promila Sinha(Punu). Hirendra Sinha, director of the album expressed his experience on the different pros & cons involved in the journey of preparation of this audio album and his meetings with the renowned Indian Playback singers Anuradha Paudwal and Sadhana Sargam at Mumbai. His initiatives and dedications were highly appreciated by the follow-up speakers. Kumkum Sinha, retired Director (SCERT) delivered speech on the role of audio & video to preserve Bishnupriya Manipuri culture and music, followed by other speakers present on the occassion. Col. Bijay Sinha highlighted many other important and cruicial issues of the Bishnupriya Manipuri society & culture and expressed his deep concern to take concrete steps to save the endangered culture. Ravi Sinha, singer & actor also spoke on the occassion expressing his experience linked with the preparation of this album.

        DILS Lakhsmindra Sinha, president of the function concluded the program with his concluding speech with the hope of release of more Bishnupriya Manipuri audio/video albums in future. He expressed his deep concern for the lack of requisite platforms for encouraging new talents and lack of facilities for preserving the culture in audio & video form.

R3S Productions is going to release its' first Bishnupriya Manipuri audio album - 'TOR NINGE' on the auspicious occasion of Deewali on 2nd November, 2013 at Press Club, Guwahati at 15:00 hrs. Rahul Sinha, a budding singer hailed from Guwahati has given his voice in the audio album along with co-singer Baby Sinha. The album also presents a Bishnupriya Manipuri song - 'Wasaak Koresi Aami', first time in the voice of Debojit Saha, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge, 2005 winner, on the lyrics composed by Dils Debojyoti Sinha and tuned by Rabi Sinha. 
Rahul Sinha is the son of Rabi Sinha, producer of the album and a well known traditional Bishnupriya Manipuri singer and actor. Rahul Sinha is a final year B.Sc.(Mass Communication) student and a talented singer. He has performed as a singer in many live musical shows and acted in dramas.
The audio composition are basically traditional and modern based. The lyrics and tune of the album songs are composition of different well known Bishnupriya Manipuri poets and lyricists viz. Biresh Ranjan Sinha, Pandit Motilal Sinha, Oja Chandramohan Sinha, Rajkumar Sinha, Dils Debojyoti Sinha, Rabi Sinha, Samar Sinha, Pradip Sinha, Motilal Sinha and Rahul Sinha.

Srimod Bhagawat Gita translated in Bishnupriya Manipuri released






         In a book release function held on 21 June, 2012  (Rath Yatra Tithi) at Sri Sri Bhubaneshwar Sadhuthakur Sewashram, Silchar, Gitottam Birendra Kumar Sinha Retd. HOD of Sanskrit Department, G. C College, Silchar released the book SRIMOD BHAGAWAT GITA translated in Bishnupriya Manipuri by Mahendra Chandra Sinha. The book has been published by Lerik Leishang Prakashani, Vivekananda Road, Silchar.

      The function was presided over by Jogendra Kumar Sinha, noted writer-cum-social worker. Many other prominent literary persons of the society like Mathura Sinha, Chandra Kanta Sinha, Gajendra Kumar Sinha, Barindra Kumar Sinha, Sudhanyo Sinha, Jyoti Prakash Sinha, Manoshi Sinha etc. were also present in the program. Proceedings of the meeting was conducted by Prabhas Kanti Sinha.

INGAL ADHAR PALA - ইঙাল আাধার পালা : A Bishnupriya Manipuri Telefilm





        INGAL ADHAR PALA is the first Bishnupriya Manipuri telefilm produced and telecasted by Desh TV of Bangladesh in the year 2010. 

        The script of the story was written by Shuvasish Sinha, poet, writer, dramatist , critic and President of Manipuri Theatre of Bangladesh  and the film was directed by M. S Suman. Shuvasish Sinha in his script had brilliantly protrayed the dedicated life of a  drummer (known as 'dakula' ), a male artist who play and dance with Mridanga (double-headed drum) while drumming. Mridanga is the soul of traditional and classical Bishnupriya Manipuri Dance. The same act was also presented in the form of stage drama shows at Bangladesh which seemed more lively according to people's response. The duration of the telefilm is 42 minutes.

        The actors in the telefilm are : Krishnakumar Sinha, Gaurhari Chatterjee, Bibha Sinha, Afjal Hussain, Randhir Sinha, Bidhan Chandra Sinha, Shukla Sinha, Sajal Kanti Sinha, others and Sharmila Sinha as singer. The VCD of the telefilm is publicized by POURI PRODUCTION & MANIPURI THEATRE, Moulvibazar, Bangladesh.

L L Productions released audio album - Premor Taale Taale


       L.L Productions, Silchar released a Bishnupriya Manipuri Audio Album titled "PREMOR TAALE  TAALE" on 13.08.2011 on the occassion of ‘JHULAN PURNIMA’ at the Sri Sri Bhubaneswar Sadhuthakur Sewashram Community Hall, Silchar. In presence of a large gathering, the Album was released by Sri Gajendra Kumar Sinha, Retired Deputy Director, Economics & Statistics and renowned cultural activist. On the occasion, a cultural programme was held performed by prominent singers Preeti Sinha, Naba Mukherjee and Chandrakanti Sinha.

      Promila Sinha(Punu) is the producer of the Album, lyrics and tune given by Chandrakanti Sinha, music direction by Rabi Sinha and music arranged by Piju. The songs in the album are – 1. Prem Karaw Harow Dena Narer, 2. Cheine Sakhi Cheine, 3. Kala Chingkhair, 4. Jaiga Janmahan, 5. Mayna Pahiya, 6. Mobile Phone’e, 7. Premor Baichal and 8. Owre Chei Chei.

     PREMOR TAALE  TAALE is the 5th release of L.L.Productions. Previous releases of L.L. Productions are PARITRAAN (full length movie), BHAJAN AMRIT (audio album), GOMNEI (music album) and DUSHAVATAR (video album) and all the releases are in Bishnupriya Manipuri.

Ratha Yatra Festival concludes at Sri Sri Radhamadhav Sevashram on 11 July, 2011




    The nine-day long Rath Yatra festival was celebrated by the Bishnupriya Manipuris at Maligaon in Guwahati with full enthusiasm and concludes with gaiety on 11 July, 2011. The festival of Ratha Yatra was started on 3rd July, 2011. The procession of Return Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath (Fira Kaang ) was taken out in the main street of Maligaon at 06:00 pm from the precinct of Sri Sri Radhamadhav Sevashram, temple(malthep) of Bishnupriya Manipuris. Sri Sri Radhamadhav Sevashram is the first and oldest malthep in Guwahati established by the Bishnupriya Manipuris in the year 1954 and situated in the foot of Nilachal hills where Kamakhya temple is situated. Numbers of community people from different areas of Guwahati joined the procession with enthusiasm accompanying and pulling the chariot, singing devotional songs with drums etc.



        The devotees offered puja before the deity of Lord Jagannath and sang devotional aratis and 'Jaidev ' by standing in a circular line by all the devotees in the malthep. After the 'Jaidev' is over, all devotees were offered with khichri prasad. The arrangement for the khichri prasad known as 'kechurir pali ' was done by the community people of TV Tower area of Guwahati.

         Similarly, like rest of the devotees of Lord Jagannath in India and abroad, the 9 day long Rath Yatra festival was celebrated by the Bishnupriya Manipuris residing in different areas of Guwahati at different maltheps (temples) with full traditional gaiety & devotion.

Annual Conference of NBM Sahitya Parishad and NBM Sanskriti Parishad held

Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sanskriti Parishad (Assam State Committee) held the Annual  Conference on February 5 and  6 



The Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad and Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sanskriti Parishad (Assam State Committee) held the Annual Conference jointly at Sadhuthakur Sewashram, Silchar on February 5 and 6, 2011.

The conference began with the flag-hoisting ceremony on 05.02.2011 at 10 a.m. The flag was unfurled by Dr. Ranadhir Rajkumar, President of NBM Sanskriti Parishad. Jyoti Prakash Sinha, President of Sahitya Parishad inaugurated a Book Stall of Bishnupriya Manipuri books which was opened for the two days in the venue. The proceedings of the two full-day long programme started with joint discussions by the two Parishads on literary and cultural activities of the organizations towards the upliftment of the society. The session evolved discussions on many key points and decisions taken for future action plans towards strengthening the Bishnupriya Manipuri language and literature.

A book titled “Manipuror Baatgo Baagil” written by late Sudhanya Sinha published by Lerik Leisang Prakashani and another three books titled “Bharator Shadinotar Sangraame – Pratapgarh” written by Uday Sinha, Secretary General, Mahasabha, “Amar Pourei” written by noted writer Jyoti Prakash and “Gyan Bigyan” written by Brahmagupta published by the Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad were released in the conference. These four books are written in Bishnupriya Manipuri language.

Eminent Ishalpas Oja Bijoy Sinha and Oja Jawaharlal Sinha, Dakula Oja Dalamoni Sinha, Dramatist Jogendra Sinha and Poet Chanmoni Sinha were felicitated in the programme. Prabhas Kanti Sinha, Chairman of Bishnupriya Manipuri Bhasagnan Pariksha Parishad offered Degree to two Shastri Degree holders Mitali Sinha and Rabisena Sinha.

Six budding writers were awarded against the competition organised on short story writing and poem composing.

A cultural evening with songs and dances performed by prominent artists was also held on February 5 and 6.
